I didn't take as many pictures on Saturday as I did on Friday, but here are a few.
The inside of the Colosseum. Last time I was here you could walk on those wooden platforms all the way across the middle. For some reason this time they were all blocked off.
The exterior. Too bad that fence ruins some of the beauty.
The Forum, looking back in the direction of the Colosseum.
A large grassy field, formerly known as the Circus Maximus.
On the way back we walked by this building. Apparently it is known as the "Altar of the Fatherland" and it houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as well (note the heavily armed guards at the bottom of the picture).
As the sun set I couldn't resist taking another picture of the Colosseum while we walked back toward the metro stop.
