I am taking classes at the Stanford center in Florence at Piazza Santa Maria Sopr'Arno 1. I've taken a few pictures of the city and will add more as I take them.

Apparently the Stations of the Cross are performed the week before Easter. A large crowd of people, each holding a candle, walked behind a cross traveling between the many churches of Florence. This is an extended exposure of the procession in Piazza Santa Croce.
Italy has an election for Prime Minister on April 9th and 10th. The two main candidates are Berlusconi and Prodi. The Comunista were having a rally on Friday for the vote. There was a band playing and people passing out fliers. Vota! Vota!
